On November 25, AP&S International GmbH held its Apprenticeship Day. Under the motto "From trainees for future trainees", young people were given guidance for their future careers. "Providing important information, giving insights into the professions and our company - who could do it better for the prospective trainees and students than our trainees themselves? It was important to us to create a relaxed atmosphere in which the young people feel comfortable," explains Linda Lütte from the HR department at AP&S.
Information stations on various apprenticeships and dual study programs, guided tours of the company building and presentations on the company resulted in a varied event. Various activities were designed to wet the appetite for more and lower the inhibition threshold for future applications. For example, visitors were able to apply for an internship at AP&S quickly and easily using an interactive PDF. The HR department gave tips on how to apply for a job and how to conduct an interview. Shareholder and AP&S founder Horst Hall himself took the visitors on a tour of the production facilities. A virtual world with VR glasses, presented by the sister company tepcon GmbH, provided an additional fun factor for the young people.
"We were very pleased with the large number of participants and the lively interest. The feedback from the visitors was very positive. Experiencing a company live with all its processes and departments is something that young people don't get every day, but it's extremely important to get a feel for the working world and see where their own journey may take them. That's exactly what we wanted to achieve. We would like to pick up the next generation of employees early on, in their first orientation phase," says Lütte.
A raffle was the grand finale of the event. The lucky winners were able to proudly take home their prizes, including a TV as first prize.
For the coming year (2023), the following apprenticeship positions are still available at AP&S: Apprenticeship as mechatronics technician; apprenticeship as process mechanic; apprenticeship as warehouse logistics specialist; dual study program Business Informatics - Process Engineering & Digital Management as well as Study Plus - Mechatronics and Digital Production.
